ADVICE FROM THE CHILDREN’S COMMISSIONER – If you have a child and are going through a Separation or Divorce please read the letter from the Children’s Commissioner dated 12 March 2026: The letter can be accessed here.

Dame Rachel de Souza has shared her guidance in the hope that it will support those going through a challenging time as a result of Separation or Divorce.

Parents are urged to place their child’s wellbeing at the heart of their decisions and to make every effort to ensure their child does not become entangled in parental conflict.

While Dame Rachel de Souza encourages parents, when it is safe, to try approaches that do not involve Court applications to navigate issues arising from Separation or Divorce, she recognises that Court action is necessary in some circumstances.
