Moves to switch on Speed Cameras across the Country

Following the financial crisis from 2009 onwards, many local Police Authorities switched off Speed Cameras as a result of cuts from Central Government funding. However, it would appear that a number of Cameras are now being switched back on. In particular, 29 cameras in Avon and Somerset will now become operational again for the first time since 2011. This could well mark a return to the pre-financial crisis era when camera usage was at its highest, and indeed, levels of speeding convictions reached a peak. We would therefore advise you to exercise particular caution when approaching a Speed Camera, and never assume that it has been switched off. If you require any advice in relation to speeding issues, or indeed any other motoring queries, please do not hesitate to contact our specialized team.
