Hine Solicitors is one of the few criminal law firms qualified and accredited to undertake prison law work in the UK. One of our team regularly contributes to the Q & A forum for Inside Time newspaper and is a member of the Association of Prison Lawyers. Whether you’re facing an adjudication or require representation for parole, contact us. It’s vital you have expert legal advice when it’s
your liberty at stake.

Recalls
Home Office statistics show a massive rise in recalls - 13,467 in 2008/2009. The vast majority were for technical breaches rather than for further offences. Whether you are subject to a standard recall or come within the new fixed term recall provisions, you are entitled to dispute the reasons relating to why you were recalled. We will make representations on your behalf and, where appropriate, seek an oral hearing challenging the recall decision

Parole Hearings
It takes skill and expertise to present a case to the Parole Board. If you face a hearing, let us represent you. We can source expert psychiatric or psychological reports, supporting a case for release or a move to an open establishment. We undertake all types of parole proceedings, from representation on the papers for mid-way hearings to oral hearings for lifers.

Adjudications
Any prisoner facing disciplinary action in the prison is usually entitled to legal advice. For any matter heard before an independent adjudicator and in some situations before a Prison Governor we have a specialist team to represent you. Hine Solicitors has more than an 80% success rate in adjudication hearings.

The team also specialises in advising IPP prisoners in sentence planning, helping with HDC applications and assisting with re-categorisation reviews.

To arrange a prison visit, call or write to us today.
